We are a fairly small group so there are always plenty of opportunities to be involved either performing, directing, working with scenery, costumes etc, assisting with lighting and sound, or working back stage.
We produce 2 plays a year at the Brentwood Theatre – one in March and one in November. During the production week we have a get-in on Monday, a technical session on Tuesday and a dress rehearsal on Wednesday. Performances are on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening.
In the run up to a production we rehearse twice a week on Monday and Thursday in Shenfield near the station from 19:45 to around 22:00. We typically have 20 rehearsals including the performance week for a production.
Single membership is £30.00 p.a. and £40.00 for a couple/family running from 1st June to 31st May. Students pay £10 p.a.
In addition, cast members, who have paid this membership, pay £20.00 towards the cost of the script and rehearsals. None members are required to pay a production levy of £35 towards the cost of the script and rehearsals.
We try to select plays that are not those usually chosen by non-professional groups. We have a very good following in the area and usually get 80 to 100% audiences (that is 75 to 95 people per night. As a group or as individual performers we have regularly been nominated for Brent Awards and have received the awards on a number of occasions.
